Hi! I’m Lakyn owner of Hair Etc LLC, I love helping people look and feel their best. I graduated in 2016 and started owning the salon in 2017. Along with running my business, I work as a substitute instructor at Minnesota West Community & Technical College on the Jackson and Pipestone campuses. I’m passionate about continuing education and staying inspired within the ever-changing hair industry. I offer a full range of women’s services, including cuts, styling, and tape-in extensions. I also enjoy creating updos and special-occasion styles. I do all chemical services—color, perms, and keratin straightening—and I’m always honest about what’s realistic while helping clients get as close as possible to their goal look. For men, I offer fades, cuts, shampooing, and beard trims. For kids, I focus on making the experience fun and comfortable, working at their pace to help them feel safe. I also provide pedicures and toenail trimming with a relaxing soak, massage, and regular or gel polish. Beyond the salon, I founded Lakyn’s CARE, a nonprofit that supports people facing life-threatening illnesses through wigs and meaningful gifts. I also mentor youth through the MVAC program, serve as Vice Chair of the MVAC Board, and volunteer as an EMT on the Truman Ambulance. I live in Truman with my boyfriend and our four teens. I love anything outdoors. My biggest goal is is always growth—for myself, my business, and my community. I am not good at posting pictures of my work.
